Six Britons hurt in Canton riot

IX Britons, one of them a woman, were injured today when a Chinese mob fired the British Consulate in Canton and wrecked other buildings.
They were the Vice-Consul, Mr J. K. Blackwell; Mr J. L. Murray, the British Press Attache; his secretary, Mrs John Wiliams; and her husband, who s secretary of the local YMCA; Mr Jack Parkhouse, shipping irm employee: and Mr L. B. Wood.

Sir Ralph Stevenson, British Ambassador in Nanking says BUP, has asked the Chinese government to protect the British Embassy against possible violence.
